SELMAR Institute of Education will skillfully integrate the Nationally Recognised Training courses into any existing retail training programs to ensure effective on site training to suit your particular needs.

VATS can be placed in large organisations on a permanent basis, if the size of operation justifies, giving you on-going expertise in training and strong Company knowledge and focus.

In the interests of providing a more skilled Australian workforce that delivers long-term benefits for the nation and for international competitiveness, the State and Federal Governments provide funding and incentives to encourage training. Financial incentives are available for both employers and trainees.

The Federal Department responsible for training is Department of Education, Employment  and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and the State Government Department in Victoria, for example is Skills Victoria. Funding for accreited training differs from State to State and an Australian Apprentice Centre can assist our clients in reviewing and meeting eligibility criteria, where applicable, under the States' legislation.

Commonwealth and State Government Funding for Employers may include funding for:

  • Commencement

  • Taking on a school-based trainee

  • Those who employ and train a person with a disibility, or

  • Who employ and train indigenous Ausatralians

  • Completion

Victoria and other States also administer other funding schemes designed to assist employers and their trainees. Using Victoria as an example, these may include:

  • WorkCover and payroll tax exemptions for trainees, subject to specific conditions

  • Subsidies and grants for disabled apprentices and trainees
